When you purchase a high quality, heavy duty foosball table, it arrives in a freight truck in 1 to 5 boxes.  The large box is the main cabinet.  This may weigh 150 lbs or more, which is why it is so helpful to have at least one person to help you with assembly.

Two of the smaller boxes are for the legs.  These legs can weigh 40-50 lbs each, like in the Tornado Storm foosball table pictured in this example.  Sturdy legs ensure a stable foosball playing experience, so the table does not move even during fierce competition.

The long, skinny box contains the foosball player rods.  As you can see in the picture, each rod is a different length for the Goalkeeper, Defense, Midfield, and Attack foosmen.  Of course there is a matching rod for the opposing team.

Foosball Accessories

The lightest box contains your foosball game table accessories.  While the number of players varies between brands, the most common number is 13 players to each side.  This gives you 3 goalkeepers, 2 defensive foosmen, 5 midfielders, and 3 attack players.  One popular variation is to only allow each team 1 goal keeper, in which case each team would only have 11 players to each side.  You can make this decision when adding the foosmen to their rods, and change any time you like for more challenging competition!  Other accessories include washers, nuts, scoring assemblies, bumpers for the edge of each rod, lubricant, and foosballs.

Ten Steps to Assembling Foosball Game Tables

While assembly instructions vary between brands since each manufacturer is slightly different, these are the ten basic steps.
  • Remove all parts from the box.
  • Turn table upside down.
  • Slide each leg into place.
  • Secure the legs with the included washer and nut.  Righty tighty, lefty loosey!
  • With at least two people, turn the table upright.
  • Attach ball return and install bearings.
  • Insert rubber bumpers, foosmen, and rods through each hole in the table.
  • Mount the scoring assemblies.
  • Level the table with shims and leg levelers.
  • Wipe each rod with a clean cloth, then lubricate each rod with the silicone lubricant.
